Bishop James A. Winslow, Jr

Bishop James A. Winslow, Jr. joined the Men Impact Change Executive Board in 2018. He is a community leader, fair and honest business man, a positive leader who holds the interest of the people in high regard. His vision is to open the door to ministries that will meet the needs of the members as well as the surrounding communities. He established ministries such as “Boys in the Neighborhood” in 1987, a boys club designed to teach the Gospel by being a positive role model. Part of the vision includes the purchase of the entire 1900 block of Belair Road, both sides of the street, which will consist of building a youth center, a live broadcast studio for radio and television, a Christian book store, a homeless shelter, a shelter for battered women and children, an academic center, daycare, and the expansion of helping hands food pantry, just to name a few. He is also a carpenter, licensed heat and air condition specialist, diverse musician, bus driver, and dynamic preacher. He was ordained as a Minister of the Gospel on April 19, 1987 and installed as Pastor to preach the Gospel in 1988. In March 1992, he was the recipient of the Diamond Award for outstanding service toward the betterment of our community and country and he also received the Newsome Gospel Music Award in 2009. In 2015, he became a BMe Fellow, and he received the Presidential Volunteer Service Award from former President Barack Obama, and Service Awards from the Baltimore Mayor and numerous politicians for community service. He was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland and in 1980 he met his wife, Author, and Pastor Nancy R. Lightner Winslow. They conceived two daughters Roshecca (1982-1992) and JeCole (Winslow) Edwards and two sons Dominic Winslow and Cornelius Jefferson and two grandchildren that they take care of Jainard and Zian Edwards. On August 1, 2004, God birthed “PowerHouse World Ministries” and currently, he is the overseer of twelve churches that stem from England, Germany and the United States of America.
